Dogs and a Beautiful, Stylish Interior

Dogs and a beautiful, stylish interior can go together surprisingly well! With a little creativity, insight, and a smart use of materials, you can create a beautiful living space. I write about this in my blogs, and you can find everything neatly organized in the free guide you can download when you subscribe to our newsletter!

What should you consider when you want to design a stylishly "dog-friendly" home?

Materials

The materials, of course, must be sturdy and able to take a beating. High-energy dogs, in particular, are not a good match for fragile, delicate materials. Make sure they are durable and scratch-resistant. Cushions, rugs, and other upholstered items especially need to be tough!

Smart Storage Solutions

Opt for beautiful baskets with a coarse, strong weave to neatly store your dog's toys. Cabinets and furniture with drawers are also a great choice. And don't forget to install a cool shelf on the wall with coat hooks for hanging the leash and baskets for accessories.

Dog Beds and Baskets

This is where you can let your creativity run wild. There are beds and baskets available in all shapes and sizes, and you can also find plenty of fun DIY ideas online! Place them in quiet spots where the dog can still feel involved with the family.

Styling and Placement!

The interior layout should give the dog enough space to move freely through the house. Fragile or delicate items are better placed in a safe spot, away from the dog's 'routes.' Also, keep in mind that a wagging tail can knock things over in a wide area! Remember that your four-legged friend shouldn't slip, so the floors must have sufficient grip.

Keep It Clean and Beautiful

Be disciplined with cleaning and tidying up. Take measures to protect vulnerable surfaces and objects. Combat odors with air fresheners, plants, or flowers, and brush your dog regularly so they don't shed too much hair.
