My Mini Aussie Shadow

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd is a truly special creature! And not just because he has a beautifully coloured coat and one-and-a-half blue eyes (the top half of his left eye is brown).

True to his breed, he has the energy of ten dogs and can sometimes get so enthusiastically hectic that the word 'caution' simply ceases to exist! In this blog post, get to know our Shadow!

Name

Our previous dog, Vegas, was almost always to be found close to his owners, especially me—like a shadow. That's why the name for our new little dog was decided quite quickly! And, honestly, it fits perfectly. Shadow follows us everywhere and gets restless the moment one of us steps into a shop. He is incredibly loyal and faithful, a real little shepherd!

Puppy

Shadow comes from a litter near Denia, in Eastern Spain. We lived in Spain for just over two years, and we went to see and choose Shadow quite soon after we arrived! He had a beautiful heart shape on his nose, created by the mix of black and pink skin, which we found absolutely adorable. We picked him up when he was two months old. Welcome to the family!

Energy

What energy! Sometimes, he was impossible to calm down, racing all through the house. As a puppy, you could occasionally expect a sharp little tooth on your skin. As an adult dog, it can now happen that 14 kilos of dog suddenly leaps against you while he's happily running with his toy.

Affection

Despite his occasional inability to settle down, Shadow is the sweetest and most faithful dog you could wish for. He adores his owners and shows it by giving countless kisses. He also regularly comes to sit or lie affectionately by my feet.

Fun Facts

Shadow has already learned quite a few tricks. He can sit nicely and give paws, but also roll over and spin. And he can walk endlessly in circles with his large food bowl in his mouth until his humans finally put some food in it. In the evenings, he sweetly comes to sit or lie with me when I eat my apple. He secretly knows by now that he will always get a little piece from me!

Of course, there is still so much more to tell about two-and-a-half years of Shadow, but for now, I’ll leave it here. Perhaps there will be more Shadow-spam in the near future!
